Begin where the body begins

Breath is the one function of the autonomic nervous system you can take hold of directly. That makes it the most accessible door into regulation there is — and the fastest thing we can offer you today, at no cost, with nothing to schedule.

Start with the introduction below — two minutes on what this work is and why it begins in the body rather than the story. Then the full guided session, whenever you're ready for it.

Start here: an introduction

2 minutes · Meghan Sickner

A few words on what this work is, why it begins in the body rather than the story, and what you might feel along the way. Listen now — nothing required.

Closing your eyes isn't restful for everyone. If you'd rather keep them open, rest your gaze here instead — this is the water at Laguna, filmed one morning by Meghan.

The guided breath session

6 minutes · Meghan Sickner

A guided conscious breathing practice you can do lying down or seated, wherever you are. Use headphones if you have them. Tell us where to send it and it opens right here — no waiting on an email.

We'll send the link to keep, plus occasional notes on the work. Unsubscribe anytime. See our privacy policy.

How to use it

  1. Find somewhere you won't be interrupted for about fifteen minutes. Lying down is ideal; seated with your back supported works too.
  2. Headphones if you have them. If not, that's fine too.
  3. Let your eyes close. You don't have to do anything with your mind.
  4. Follow the breath as it's guided. If you drift, come back without commentary.
  5. Afterward, don't get straight up. Give yourself a minute to notice what changed.

What you might notice

Tingling in the hands or face, a wave of emotion, a yawn that keeps going, heat, or simply a settling you can't quite name. All of it is ordinary. The nervous system releases what it has been holding, and it does that in its own language.

If it becomes too much, open your eyes and let the breath return to normal. Nothing is lost by stopping. You can always begin again.

This is a wellness practice, not medical or psychological care. If you are managing a health condition, or if you are pregnant, check with your own practitioner first.

When you're ready for more

This session is the doorway. The Women's Crossing is the path — small, trauma-informed groups where this work goes deeper, offered free or at low cost. And The Reflection takes two minutes and shows you which energy is authentically yours, and which one you learned to wear.

Help light the bridge

Everything we offer is free or low cost for the people it serves, funded entirely by people who decide to show up.
